Barrel Racing

Barrel Racing is a sport that takes the most atheletic horses and the most dedicated riders.
In this rodeo event, the rider must safely maneuver their horses in a clover leaf pattern around three barrels placed in a triangle shape in the center of the arena.
The horses run at sometimes breakneck speed, and are timed by a device that uses a laser system to record time called an Electric Eye.

The timer begins when horse and rider cross the start line, and ends when the barrel pattern has been successfully executed and horse and rider cross the finish line. The rider's time depends on several factors, most commonly the horse's physical and mental condition, the rider's horsemanship abilities, and the type of ground or footing

Since there are no judges in Barrel Racing, the fastest time wins. In the event that a barrel is knocked down, the rider will have a 5 second penalty added to their time.
